China/Hong Kong traders ... warranty and DSR ?

Hiya All ....Hovering over buying an item ... stated item location is UK, but its clearly a China/Hong Kong operation - probably drop-ship of some kind. I know I should have paypal protection, but I'm not clear if UK DSR law applies (in theory or in pratice).TIA for any useful ideas/answers.
